“Fatality” is the debut track from UK thrash band Psython. This
song is a short burst of aggression that shows some potential for the band’s
future. It’s a bit hard to get anything particularly concrete out of less than
3 minutes of music, but there are still some good takeaways from this song. The
guitar solos are both pretty solid, showing in one second a bluesy sensibility,
and the next, a shreddier take on things. The vocals are more on the
hardcore/death side. This singer sounds like he is ripping out his throat with
how hard he is screaming. This means little to no melody, and plenty of
aggression. The song is upbeat for the entirety of the track, but the drumming
switches between groovier beats and more standard thrash beats. Unfortunately
the track does little to make the band stand out amongst the crowd, but part of
that is because of the brevity of this release. For now, this track makes Psython
a band to watch, but with some more material, they could certainly become a
very enjoyable thrash band.
